Feeders are designed in a variety of styles to accommodate a wide range of materials in many industries. Some feeders even have the capability of removing undersized product before it reaches the next stage in the processing system. Regardless of the style of feeder, its primary purpose is to provide an uninterrupted stream of material from a bin or hopper at a controlled rated.
Wet classification is the process of separating particles in a feed material depending on their settling rates in a fluid. Larger, heavier sized particles sink to the bottom, while smaller, lighter fractions float to the top and overflow weirs on the equipment. The top water is then free of particles and able to be reused in the processing plant.
McLanahan Drag and Reclaim Feeders make material handling simple; they tie into the downstream conveyor and do not require an operator. This style of feeder is a good fit for mining operations moving free-flowing minerals, and is well-suited for a variety of uses in coal and other industries.
McLanahan Vibrating Grizzly Feeders function as both a feeder and a screen capable of bypassing material that is already to size. These feeders can be used in a variety of industries, and they are designed to withstand heavy shocks from being loaded by a truck or shovel.
McLanahan Wobbler Feeders can feed material as well as scalp out fines from aggregate, coal and mineral streams. This style of feeder is ideal for wet, sticky material or material with a high percentage of clay.
